Riffs Tab

Riffs Tab
Guitar riffs and tabs?

Well I taught myself guitar, but I’m not exactly amazing. I can play some songs, but only if there are chords with lyrics so I know when to play the chord. I do NOT understand those tab things. I get that the number is the fret you play on, but I don’t get if you play them at the same time or how they work with the lyrics. I need HELP!!!! Thanks.

I’m self taught as well so I know how you feel.
Tab is tricky but it just takes practice.
Thing of it in the same way as sheet music – if the notes are stacked on top of each other then you play them together. If they are spaced apart then you play them individually.
It’s kind of hard to explain it in writing, easier to show in person.
A good thing to try is find the tab for a song you really like so you can compare your playing to the recording to keep track of how well you are doing.
Try this site – it has heaps of tab and chords you can practice with and lots of lessons as well.
