Gas pedal- Throttle wire broke.?
I have a 1990 new yorker landau, My grandparents gave it to me, and it wasn’t driven very often/hard. I went up to the mountains this last week and when i was coming back the throttle cable broke.
It was rubbing up against the engine and it is hanging on by a thread and the rubber part outside of it is mutilated.
By throttle cable i am referring to the cord that connects the gas pedal to the engine that allows the fuel to enter.
I’m looking for any guides on how to fix this myself or if it’d be better to go to a car shop?
Also any info on gear or tools i’ll need to fix and there respective costs would be great!

The accelerator cable is a fairly easy thing too replace.
You;ll need the part and possibly a pair of pliers.
disconnect cable at the accelerator pedal (press two tabs and release)
then pull cable from firewall port/hole same tabs as with pedal, then repeat at the throttle.
Shouldn’t take more than 20 min..
