Any suggestions, I want to learn to play jazz trumpet for myself?
I bought a Yamaha trumpet and an instructional DVD in early 2008, tried for two months and stopped. I could play a few notes of a material principle. I will not quit. This all started when I listened to jazz and was inspired to have fun and be able to express a jazz instrument. I would love to be able to play all the sentences of Miles Davis Kind of Blue.
Great. I play trumpet and you know how when you start first. I say we should, that's who meet with a live trumpet teacher and good to help with the basics, which are the mouth (never use the mouth smile) breath control and theory of music (on a scale, chords and how they form) When you get instruction of a good live you will understand better how to play music on the trumpet. Tell your teacher you want to play jazz like Miles Davis All Blues, and to give the direction you want your game to go.
