How do you think a man with 13 wives could manage to keep the peace between them all?
I have an ancestor, a Scotsman,( and later an important Britsh Hero for his political achievements,) who went to India in the 18th century in order to serve in the Army for the British Government but , in order to cut a long story short, finally adopted Indian customs. He must have been quite an exotic character as it is recorded that he had 13 wives, which he paraded each day through Delhi, seated each one on her own elephant! However I often wonder how he managed to deal with so many women!
I, it appears, am descended from Perigrinne, his son, or one of his sons, who was conveniently described by the British Government as being his Kinsman! I believe his mother was the Dancer. In fact she is shown actually dancing in the scene depicted in the etching made of my ancestor together with his other 12 wives, which is kept in the British Museum.
I have heard that a Harem of this kind produced understandably much tensìon between the women. with sometimes dire consequences.
put them in separate parts of your castle and when ones on the rag go to a different one
